The hop on hop off double-decker buses in Varadero run a route between the Varadero Marina and Varadero downtown.  It’s the cheapest way to get around Varadero, apart from walking as it costs only US$5 a day.

Where is Varadero

Cuba is actually a producer of cacao beans, as it lies at the very edge of ideal growing conditions.  A small amount of cacao beans are produced at the far eastern end of the island, in the province of Baracoa.  (you can read about Baracoa in my guide here) And these beans are also processed in Cuba too, which is rather rare – going from bean to bar in the same country.  And the Casa Del Chocolate martinique karibik ausflüge in Varadero is the only restaurant in Cuba that has chocolate on every item on its menu.  They don’t use cooking oil, it’s cocoa butter for instance.  So here you’ll find hot chocolate, cakes, main courses, and of course, chocolate to take away.    The chocolate that they make here is made 100% from Cuban cacao.

While the tour and cooking class meets in central Varadero, you’ll travel by minibus to Cardenas and take a tour in a horse-drawn carriage and then buy the ingredients for your cooking class. There’s one thing better than looking at the water from above, and that’s seeing it ausflüge alcudia underneath.  There is some great shore based snorkeling in the Varadero area – and its at a location called Playa Coral.  You’ll find Playa Coral about halfway between Matanzas and Varadero, about 3 kilometers off the main ausflüge titisee You can snorkel from the beach, but its safe to enter the water from the  Flora y Fauna Reserve (8am to 5pm), 400m east.

The reef here is about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) long and the water is relatively shallow.  If you prefer to take transport from Varadero, then this trip includes transport, snorkeling and also a trip to Saturn Cave.

I do recommend that you bring your own snorkeling gear to Cuba if you have it.  While all trips will have snorkeling gear for rent, you’ll get a much better fit and quality with your own.

Von der Playa Coral sind es noch rund 22 Kilometer zurück nach Varadero.

Gut durchorganisiert und in beschleunigtem Modus ist der Ausflug in einem Tag machbar. An einem rund zwei Kilometer langen Riff direkt vor der Küste tummeln sich Hunderte von Fischarten, weshalb die Playa Coral auch bei Anbietern von Tauch- und Schnorchelexkursionen zum festen Programm gehört.
